Biography
An Irish Tale
Out of the Irish mist she came in 1999 A.D., the lovely professor and textile designer from Dublin Art College NCAD. Her name back then was Caitriona Breslin and she settled in Southampton NY, selling her own hand embroidered neckties and art pieces for up to $400 a pop to the likes of Aretha Franklin (for the performer’s private collection.) At the time Barclay Crocker Inc. was a small storefront operation in Southampton in a courtyard just off Jobs Lane, run by Tony Barclay, himself an eccentric entrepreneur with a taste for opera. The two met and of course fell madly in love.
Sadly, Tony died suddenly only two years into their relationship and Caitriona found herself as CEO of his fledgling Internet enterprise. She closed the storefront and set to work to build the business exclusively online. Tony’s artist/entrepreneur cousin Hunt Barclay arrived from New Hampshire to help (and marry her…. but that’s another tale) and within 7 years www.barclaycrocker.com has grown to become a major site on the web for fine shaving products and toiletries. Hunt and Caitriona Barclay now live in Silver Lake, NH and Caitriona runs her growing toiletries ‘empire’ with the same style and panache it has had since it’s humble beginning in 1990: Her promise
